Thanksgiving

Nathan's fellow first year grad classmates are all very nice and like to get together every now and then.  They have adopted me as an honorary theater grad student.  We had a barbecue with all of them over at the beginning of the school year, and we also got together for a "Thanksgiving Meal". Most of their parties involve games that include charades or some form of acting, which as a non-actor is quite daunting for me!  I'm not sure if anyone would pick me to be on their team if I wasn't always on Nathan's!  

My new job is very accommodating.  They allowed me to have time off to go home for Thanksgiving.  Both my parents and Nathan's mom assumed that we would have no time off for the holiday, and were ready to come and spend Thanksgiving here, which would have been nice, but we were ready to get out of town.  We hadn't really left since we moved here.  Nathan's mom and brother drove up to Lexington, my home town, and spent Thanksgiving at my family's house. It was so nice to have everyone together at the same place!  We pretty much saw the whole family, and Gracie was reunited with her cousin Candy (also a miniature schnauzer), which I'm sure she was much more excited about than Candy.  Gracie loves going to my parents house, there are lots of squirrels to look at in the woods and they always have treats!  This time there was a monkey friend waiting her arrival, so we promptly tied it around her neck and she drug it around all over the house, apparently not bothered by his presence.  Nathan's mom and I explored the Lexington antique shops and had a nice time.  We also got to go to a Chiefs game the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  It was my first NFL game ever, and it was a lot of fun!  We tailgated with family and friends.  The game was against the Raiders, and even thought the Chiefs lost, we had a great time!
